The Rig

This is a 1994 Ford E350 with a Life Line body on the back. It has a 7.3 idi diesel engine, it is slow but powerful, simple yet elegant. The rig was in service from the day it was built until it was taken out of service in October of 2021 with 69,000 miles and no idle time since it came from a town of 250 people in Iowa. It was stripped to bare metal and lovingly built out by V. & C. Taylor in Michigan.

Removing the dead weight

When I say stripped to bare metal that is literally what they did keeping intact a lot of functionality that is lost in most other conversion. Hundreds of pounds of wiring, medical equipment, cabinets and a massive ac/heating system all removed and rerouted when necessary. I have tried to preserve the original build as much as possible without compromising the usability for me and the cats.

Modifications

Although the build is gorgeous some modifications need to be made in order to facilitate the type of travel we do. It was set up for plugging in at a park for weekend camping so there is no solar and no 12V in the living space. The bed is also massive, I love a queen bed but it is just too large for the space that could better be used for workspace, freezer, and more storage. The water system is actually top notch but undersized for our needs. We need 55 gallons of fresh water to stay away from services for weeks at a time.
